Last weekend Matt and I finally made use of the fact we have a live-in babysitter and booked a night away in a hotel. We chose a boutique hotel in Chinatown called The Scarlet as I had never been to that area (known as Club Street) where there are lot of restaurants and independent bookshops and expensive gift shops. Loved it immediately - can't believe it took me a year and half to find it. We met our friend Fiona for drinks at the hotel rooftop bar and then progressively moved along the road to other roof top bars admiring the views of the skyline. We had a lovely lazy morning on Saturday with a relaxed coffee at a streetside cafe while we watched Singapore slowly wake up.
On Sunday we chose another way to see the views by taking the family on the 450m zip line at Sentosa. Not for faint-hearted (ie that means Dad and Merilyn might like to sit this one out), this massive flying fox is spectacular and got the adrenalin pumping.

That looks like fun!
