Long weekend

Once again we have been lucky enough to score a visit from Uncle Andrew. He seems to instigate adventures and this time it was a spot of night caching. On Thursday night the grown ups were making plans to return to the cache at Pasir Ris Park that had alluded us last time when some children, who should have been asleep, overheard and begged to come. So at about 9.30pm we all headed off to try our luck again. A bit of scrambling around the mud in the mangroves and we were rewarded with a find! It was great to see the park at night and it was actually reasonably busy (but not in the muddy mangroves). We had brought torches but when we switched them off we could actually see quite well from the permanent Singapore city glow. Felicity spotted a few shooting stars and said I ruined it for her when I pointed out they were landing at Changi Airport.

Today was Deepavali holiday and we got up early to do the MacRitchie Treetops walk with the Murray Family and Andy before having a well-earned swim and lazy lunch at the Murray's pool. Tomorrow we head off to the Avondale Dad's and Kids Camp at St John's Island. As I'm on the committee I'm one of the few lucky mums who gets to stay over. It may very well be a really long weekend....

  1. Back here in the real world, us jealous souls go about our time -cutting grass, painting, trimming bushes, picking up toys etc. Life here seems OK until I read "the Blog" to find out how the rich and famous live!

  2. Sounds like great fun. We're having a VERY lazy Saturday after enjoying a big birthday dinner last night at Windy Point restaurant. Geoff is polishing the silver and I'm planning our long weekend in Melbourne next week.
