Felicity's birthday week over for another year

Monday was Felicity's 8th birthday so last Sunday afternoon Felicity and I made cupcakes for her to take to school and we designed them on the tray to look like a dog. We were quite pleased with our effort. Thank you to all of you who sent cards and presents. Tee will email soon to say thank you. She thoroughly enjoyed her present unwrapping ceremony which seemed to go on forever.

This Saturday was her sleepover party. We had six eight-year-olds over for a swim and pizza and then a movie and then five of them "slept" over. We had a great time or more importantly they all had a great time. They were very good at making up their own games. They did a very glamorous fashion show for us. The movie we showed was the 1971 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and as they are studying the book at school it was good choice. Although a lot of the commentary during the movie was when the movie wasn't true to the book like"hold on, its supposed to be snowing when he finds the coin" and "why isn't the boat pink?" and even deeper like"Is it Wonka's fault they are all getting in trouble or is the kids' fault?" After the movie, they re-enacted it all and Felicity did a very good impersonation of Veruca Salt - a bit scary how easy it was for her...

They were up at 5.15am after going to sleep around 10.00pm (some claimed they were still awake at 11.45pm but I can't verify that as I was fast asleep). It was pancakes and another swim this morning before we said goodbye. And now its time for a nap I think.
